1. What is your impression on NSD and its products?
I think NSD does not engage in “low-price competition” but concentrates on meeting quality and precision requirements from customers.
NSD is not by any means a “price leader”. However, I believe that the price reflects NSD’s commitment to high quality demanded by customer.
Since NSD is offering various products which have important applications, I agree that continuously lowering price is a challenge for NSD.
2. On what areas are you satisfied or dissatisfied with NSD or NSD’s products? We appreciate your candid comments.
We are satisfied with stable supply and on-time delivery that NSD provides.
However, when the market price fluctuates, NSD should be more responsive to adjust the cost of their production.
3. When you choose NSD as a supplier, what is the most important factor in your selection process?
We have many criteria but quality is still our top priority. From high-precision to low-precision items, each of them has to meet a certain level of requirements. Even in the case of low-precision items, the processing accuracy should not be underestimated. In other words, if we have to state the most important factor, we would choose quality.
4. How has NSD or NSD’s products supported your company’s business?
As I mentioned before, NSD’s stable supply has been really helpful for us.
In the case where a manufacturer has low production cost but has frequent labor issues resulting in delivery delays and unstable supply, we consider this manufacturer as high risk which results in greater expenses for us in long term.
We believe choosing the source with a little higher unit price but stable supply is always less costly and risky than choosing the source with cheapest unit price but unstable production when we consider the total cost package.
Besides that, at times when NSD does not have capability of providing certain services, it will outsource those services to establish the most efficient supply chain for the customer.
5. What are your expectations for NSD in the future?
While maintaining the current quality, NSD should have some cost reduction.

1. What is your impression on NSD and its products?
After our company established an operation in Guangdong Province, we also suggested that NSD should have a production site in Guangdong, too because, at that time, there were not so many local companies that provided precision machined products.
I am very grateful for NSD’s support at that time.
However, technical capability of NSD’s competitors has significantly improved over the years to reduce the gap. I think the advantage NSD once had seems not as significant as before.
2. On what areas are you satisfied or dissatisfied with NSD or NSD’s products? We appreciate your candid comments.
We are satisfied with the quality however we still expect to have a better pricing. We suggest that NSD should improve their production to be able to offer cheaper prices.
In particular, I think that even newly developed products still have similar price to existing products processed with common or older technology and methods.
We believe that if the NSD researches more about new technology to improve its production and shorten lead time, it will gain more advantages to lower production cost thus its selling price.
3. When you choose NSD as a supplier, what is the most important factor in your selection process?
Regarding the most important criterion, we have a less than common answer. We think that being professional on consultation and production can be a very important criterion.
We are able to collaborate with NSD in every stage of product development process, from initial design, changing shape, dimension or material along the way during prototyping, to fixing the final design, to always arrive at the best quality for our products.
Moreover, we also really appreciate NSD’s ability of manufacturing products which meets the strict requirements of customer. When there are issues, NSD always remains frank and shares and discusses problems with its customer openly.
4. How has NSD or NSD’s products supported your company’s business?
During product development process, we think NSD’s collaborative approach is very supportive.
As I mentioned above, since we can participate in all stages of product development, we have the chance to provide our input and work with NSD to reduce excessive and unreasonable costs in the production process to arrive at a better price for our final products.

5. What are your expectations for NSD in the future?
We appreciate NSD’s decision on having a production site in ASEAN region.
Nevertheless, it appears that NSD may reduce production capacity in South China. We hope NSD Dongguan factory will continue to maintain the current production capacity to support production of our factory in the vicinity.
If we lose supply from the NSD Dongguan factory, we may have supply interruption so please kindly consider maintaining current production capacity while expanding to ASEAN region.
